Ph34r My Rampant Consumerism

Okay, in the midst of doing other things this week [like buying ball joints for my truck so my front wheels don’t fall off!], I finally broke down and bought a DVD player. It’s an Apex AD703 that I picked up at Sam’s. It’s a good-but-not-great machine; I can’t wait to get home tonight and pop in something to give it a whirl.

  1. The only problem now is that I don’t have the right video connections to my TV. I can go through the VCR, but the encoding gets all flickery. Blaker has an RF modulator to solve the problem…if Todd’s TV has an S-Video or RCA Video in, though, we’re golden.

  2. Shall I send you ‘Apocalypse Now’? or ‘Full Metal Jacket’? Both play quite nicely on my Phillips Plasma screen (42" 16:9 theatre ratio display).

  3. You have a Phillips plasma screen? DROOL!

Heh, anything in the sidebar is cool, but no one has to get me anything. What’s funny is that I’ve since sold the above DVD player to my friend Rick and have a Toshiba single-disc in its place.
