Bloody Wind

About the only problem with living up on Monte Sano is the wind. As I have taken to sleeping in a fairly quiet room again [rather than sleeping in ambient noise of about 30 dBA], the wind up here can and does wake me up. Last night was one of those nights–the wind really kicked up around 2:40 a.m. I think gusts were up in the 30-40 mph range, given the level of whistling.

The wind’s worse up here because Monte Sano is part of a ridge on the eastern side of Huntsville. As such, the wind accelerates as it goes around the mountain, and since we’re near the rounded hump at the westernmost piece of the mountain, we get lots of that wind.

Oh well, I needed to start some laundry before church anyway.
