Simple Joys and Simple Frustrations

Yay! I have a working CD-ROM again. I’m going to get everything installed that I’ve been wanting to install, and then I’m going to rip a bunch of Dave Brubeck CD’s to my hard drive so I can fill my office with the sweet sound of Brubeck’s piano, Paul Desmond’s saxophone, Gene Wright’s bass, and Joe Morello’s drums. [Well, the entire collection isn’t the classic DB Quartet, but it’s still mainly that.]

Of course, I’m frustrated with work today … I’m working off of my third disparate set of inputs. It’s this way every week, but it still irritates me. As far as I’m concerned, we’re either 1) duplicating effort or 2) mis-using my available time. Oh well. They pay me well to deal with this.

  1. I hate to resort to this kind of language, but…

Sorry. 🙂 I only wish I had more Brubeck here. All I have is whatever one Will gave me a few months ago, and I can’t remember what the title is.

  2. I have to laugh, because my dad’s going to read this and sit there in wonderment. Realize, Brubeck was playing American college campuses when my dad was in college himself. Now, we’re all about the age he was when he left school, so he’s going to find this fun.

My dad has an LP of _Time Out_. If he ever throws that away, well, I’m disowning him. 🙂
