You know, it used to be email that was the hardest thing for me to catch up on after a couple days—say, a weekend—away from connectivity.

Then it became message board posts–it took a while to catch up with what happened over the weekend in the midst of getting some work done.

Now, it’s an all-day-Monday struggle to read all the entries from the weekend. [Yes, work comes first, but with a lot of my stuff right now requiring lots of abstract thought, I mull things while I read someone else’s writing. That doesn’t work for everyone, but I’m also the kind of person who can IM and work simultaneously. I don’t recommend it for everyone–it tends to make you loopy.]

I wonder what will be the activity that, in a year or two, I’ll bemoan in such a manner. Code patches, perhaps?
