I was worried when I went finally got close to sleep tonight that I’d be absolutely dead when I got up. I made so many goofy mistakes yesterday that I tried to zonk out at around 9:15 after irritating the snot out of Amy. [I think she was about ready to drive over here, hit me on the head with a rubber mallet, and let me sleep on the floor.] Didn’t work; laid there for a couple hours until I went out to the kitchen to wash a few dishes. Fixed a late-night snack; not even a fully tummy would get me to sleep. I went to bed around 1:30…
…and got up this morning at 5:30 as if I’d slept eight hours and never woke up in the middle of the night. Yes, I’m yawning every few minutes or so, but that’s okay.
The voice in the back of my head says, “See you after lunch, pal.” It’s probably right…
That’s about how I feel.
I asked Blake yesterday afternoon if there was a stomach bug running around locally. Blake, who works as a tech in the ER trauma area at the local hospital, confirmed that there was. No wonder I’ve felt bad since yesterday morning. I thought I was feeling better this afternoon, but after going out to Home Depot for a few things [originally just a corded drill and a stud finder…but I ended up finding a great charcoal starter and grill tools set, too, just to continue my fascination with charred meat], I’m positively spent.
I hope to heck I feel better tomorrow. I really don’t need to miss work for a second straight Monday…especially as I’ve got a quote that I really need to wrangle at work.
It would be my luck. My randomly-routine stomach issues would crop up today. If you say it’s something I ate, I’ll hurt you, because I [well, Sean, too] was the cook last night for the primary stuff at the cookout at Club Todder.
But anyway, I’m down for the count as to doing much of anything. Zippo energy, needing constant hydration, and joint aches out the yin-yang. If it’s any consolation, it’s the weekend, and at least I’m not missing work…hey, wait, I even have work in to do this weekend. Woo.
My bottom left wisdom tooth, which has never given me issues, is having sympathy pain for Kat today. Heh. What fun–at least I’m not going to be under.
Actually, when I had my one wisdom tooth extraction, they didn’t put me all the way out. I’m sorry, I like consciousness just a bit too much…=)
Migraines…stomach flu…and now, an external ear infection. Oh well, at least I have the stuff to nip this in the bud.
Especially when your former roommate took all the ibuprofen with him when he moved out of your apartment.
Especially when you wake up with one at 3:10 a.m.
Especially when you have to go to work to partake from the Giant Vat of Ibuprofen Pills.
Especially when that means inertia’s going to keep you at work all day.
Especially when staring into a computer screen makes it worse.
Ugh. Yucky night, off from work because of it. Have to clean out the fridge and freezer–something’s bad in both. I may have eaten what was bad in the freezer. Doesn’t help that I’m the only one that will ever clean out either one…
Little bit of a consumer today: picked up stuff I’ve needed, like a good surge strip for the stereo/TV/phone area of my room that I always have. I also found a great small fan for the computer area. My boxen are going to go in the corner behind the monitor wall, and if that’s going to be in the corner, I gotta provide some circulation. At its lowest setting, this thing blows a lot of air. It’ll make sure those CPU’s don’t overheat…
About half-done with the Perfect Room Setup for me. Yes, it’s just a month until I move, so it’s time to get it in the perfect alignment so I can cry when I have to move. =) I might get it done tonight, and if so, I’ll probably have another entry in the Contact series…I feel a little unfulfilled on that one.
Yeah, I’ve calmed down…somewhat. =)
I’m at home, suffering through stomach insanity. Unlike Heather, I can’t trace the cause of mine [it’s evident to me that hers is caused by the caffeine she intakes by the bushel]. Oh well, I’ve got work at home with me that I can work on while I’m here, and I can also try to see if I can alleviate some of the pig sty that someone’s turned this apartment into…
Sinus infections suck.
Well, I’m back above par, I guess. Amazing what saline nose spray, Tylenol, and beer will do for you!
Quiet day today…hopefully a quiet weekend, too. I need it–badly. Probably won’t happen, though. I do have competition for SGA President. Such fun–my fourth (and last) SGA campaign at UAH. Why do we get the results on Friday the 13th? Garh! =)
Well, I’ll have a decent site design this weekend, and then I have to get cracking on the campaign Web site. Until then, probably fewer posts.
